The Pig and Hut Talk (Jack and Ralph)

I personally think that this is a very important scene. It unravels a lot of personality that starts to show between the characters. In this scene, Ralph and Simon are building huts, when all of the "littluns" and "biguns" are playing and messing around and they should be helping with the huts. This is showing how Simon and Ralph are really committed to surviving and being as close to civilization as they can. This also shows that the others, don't care and think that they can do whatever they want and have fun all day. Then Jack comes along, back from hunting and all he can talk and think about is killing a pig before they leave the island. Ralph tries to tell him that the most important thing is to build huts and that everyone helps with this. But Jack feels like hunting for the pig is most important. This shows a lot about his personality as well. This shows that he cares more about power and overpowering everyone. He is more of a savage and doesn't care about where he sleeps or what he looks like. All he cares about it power and controlling. This scene is very important to remember in the future because it introduces you to a lot of conflict between the characters.
